Journal My Health is a health tracking app that was designed specifically for the needs of people with Chronic Illnesses. They help patients tell their health stories to their health providers, for better health outcomes. Some of the app's key features include symptom tracking, a dashboard with the statistics of the user's health from the present month, and the ability to share these statistics with health care providers through an exportable PDF report.
Journal My Health approached Thomas Jefferson University students with the opportunity to refine their data visualization and PDF report. I was able to work on this project in a team setting. Our team responsibilities included studying and conducting user research, conceptualizing how the data visualization may be more accessible for the users to understand, designing these concepts, and presenting high-fidelity prototypes to the CEO and design team.
My role in this group included team leader, organizer, branding responsibilities, and creating the prototypes through Figma.
Sketches.
We began sketching how we would fulfill our problem statement. Our concepts to make JMH a fun and engaging app include making the symptom tracking a gamified experience that would be paired with a reward system, simplifying the symptom tracking, and creating a better data visualization system that users can use to view their health statistics. We decided to combine all concepts in a subdued way.
Final Prototypes.
To make the symptom tracking system simple yet engaging through gamification, we incorporated a bubble system.
The bubble system continues into the data visualization for the Statistics page. The way we designed this is on a day, week, month, and year level of perspectives. The user is able to view how drastic their symptoms are through the color-coordinated bubbles.

Thank you for checking out my work!
I hope you enjoyed viewing this project as much as I did creating it!
